The Director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of BiH (FIPA) Gordan Milinić participated on 20 May at the conference dedicated to reforms in BiH and to vision of development of the country by 2020, held at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna.
This conference is a continuation of an
extensive project of "Vision 2020" with the aim to contribute to the
affirmation of BiH and to support economic and social reforms organized by the
America-Bosnia Foundation and the Centre for Transatlantic Relations SAIS before
Johns Hopkins University in Washington in cooperation with the IDM Institute
and the Austrian Marshall Fund in Vienna.
As a panellist at the conference, the director
Milinić spoke about the reasons for investing in BiH, sectors that could
attract foreign investments, and concrete projects for investing. He
highlighted the potential in the field of tourism, considering the fact that
the World Tourism Organization foreseen growth of tourism in Bosnia and
Herzegovina by 10% in the next four years.
He also stressed that the implementation of the
Reform Agenda will make the country more attractive for investments, and that FIPA
will try to be every day with investors, and at their service in order to
resolve possible administrative problems in contact with authorities.
The conference’s panellists were: Hans Winkler,
Director of the Diplomatic Academy and former State Secretary of Austria,
Daniel Hamilton, Executive Director of the Centre for Transatlantic Relations SAIS,
Edin Karabeg, Director of Sberbank in BiH, Ellen Goldstein, Director of the World
Bank for the Western Balkans, Wolfgang Petritsch, President of Austrian
Marshall Plan Foundation, and Valentin Inzko, High Representative in BiH.
