A Great Place to Work… And to Enjoy Life

A Great Place to Work… And to Enjoy Life

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a heart-shaped country located in South Eastern Europe, in the centre of the Balkan Peninsula. With its diverse ethnic make-up, its varied landscapes and climate zones and its long history as a place where different cultures meet and merge, Bosnia and Herzegovina is a unique country where, for centuries, people from all over the world have met and exchanged goods and ideas. The country’s lifestyle is deeply rooted in its rich tradition, culture heritage and natural beauties, married with the amenities of the west.

Accommodation
Sarajevo and all larger cities, boast a wide range of furnished and unfurnished accommodations for rent, ranging from centrally located apartments to family homes in quiet suburbs.

For shorter stays, hotels of different categories can be found in every city. For more detailed information please check the BiH tourism website

Food
Food is certainly one of the main reasons why people love Bosnia and Herzegovina. The cooking, like the country itself, is a blend of east and west.
As many would say, “if you like meat, you'll love Bosnia and Herzegovina”. Meat is a standard for any meal. However, even though traditional foods are mainly meat based, vegetarians should not despair: the country offers some of the best produce, fresh, untreated and simply delicious…
Traditional BiH specialties are ćevapi and the famous pita (pie) dishes of burek, zeljanica, sirnica, and krompiruša, which have been traditional meals since Ottoman times. And sweets are an inevitable part of every meal.
Coffee – lots of it - (the traditional ‘Bosnian’ coffee served in beautifully decorated copper pots, as well as the Italian espresso coffee) is the backbone of social life.
There are also many international restaurants offering Italian, Viennese, Turkish, Indian or Chinese cuisine.

For more detailed descriptions of the most delicious BiH specialties, and where to sample them, check websites www.greenvisions.ba i www.bhtourism.ba.

Shopping
It could be said that retail in Sarajevo and all larger cities in BiH has undergone revolution in the last decade with many shopping centres now located around cities. Here you can find food, exotic fruits and vegetables, household appliances, clothes, and other goods from all around the world.
Retailers in Bosnia and Herzegovina range from major international chains and shopping centres (e.g. Mercator, OBI, INTEREX) boutique stores (United Colors of Benetton, Terranova, Esprit, Bata shoes, etc.) to traditional BiH markets, such as Sarajevo’s Baščaršija, which has been a trading and meeting place since the 15th century.

Sport
There are plenty of opportunities for skiing, snowboarding and other winter sports on the Olympic slopes of Jahorina and Bjelašnica and at the ever-increasing number of resorts crowning the peaks of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The large number of caves – most of them easily accessible, even with children – and the pristine forests, interspersed by fast-running crystal-clear streams and brooks, make for fantastic hikes, rafting and fishing adventures. There are also plenty of possibilities for kayaking, mountain biking, alpine climbing, scuba diving, and paragliding.

The most popular sports are football, basketball, tennis, volleyball, swimming and table tennis, for which there are many clubs and stadiums in all regions. For more information on sports possibilities that BiH offers as well as organized tours, check the websites
