The World Association of Foreign Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) in cooperation with the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of BiH (FIPA) organized in Mostar on 14 April 2016, a regional meeting on the topic: "Experiences and Challenges in Attracting Direct Foreign Investment; Optimal Use of Aftercare Program in the Process of Attracting FDI".

The event was organized in order to exchange experiences and best world’s
practices in the process of attracting investment and to strengthen regional
cooperation of Foreign Investments Promotion Agencies and the relevant
institutions.
A panel discussion was held within the meeting and it was attended
by representatives of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agencies of Bosnia and
Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Turkey and Tatarstan and the World Bank Group. Gordan
Milinić, Stamen Yanev, Furkan Karakaya, Minulina Taliya Ilgizovna and Tarik
Šahović spoke about their approach and work in attracting foreign investments,
as well as their vision on how to improve activities in the mentioned field.
The representative of the World Bank William Mut presented an
Advancing Aftercare Program and information on establishing the Collaborative
Networks in BiH for support to foreign investors, while the representative of
FIPA Adrijana Marić presented the experience of FIPA in implementing the
Aftercare Program which was developed in BiH by World Bank Group in cooperation
with the Agency.
Speakers at the conference were the WAIPA CEO Boštjan Skalar and
representative of the International Economic Trade Fair Mostar Oliver Cvitković.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Serbia Chamber
of Commerce, the Invest in Malta Agency, World Bank Group, the relevant
ministries of BiH, FBiH, RS, cantonal ministries and municipalities,
Collaborative Network, business associations in BiH, the Embassy of the
People's Republic of China and the Chinese province of Hebei, etc.
