Intermediaries for investment from the United States, France, Turkey and Sweden visited municipalities in BiH

Within the GOLD project (Growth-Oriented Local Development), intermediaries for investing from the United States, France, Turkey and Sweden visited several municipalities in BiH where they were familiarized with locations for investing.

Investment potentials of municipalities / cities of Novi Grad Sarajevo, Visoko, Zenica, Tešanj Teslić, Banja Luka, Prijedor and Bihać were presented to the guests. They also visited Business Zones of those municipalities, and leading companies from various sectors.

Representatives of the FIPA Agency attended meetings with intermediaries, as well as representatives of the BIGMEV Foundation.

The Growth-Oriented Local Development (GOLD) project is jointly-financed by U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).

The GOLD project tends to:

1. Promote integrated and inclusive local economic development (LED) planning and implementation in collaboration with targeted municipalities in sectors with the highest potential for rapid, sustainable job growth;

2. Unlock the economic potential of municipal assets and promote new investments that support targeted sectors through public-private partnerships;

3. Engage stakeholders to improve public service delivery and the business enabling environment;

4. Promote new direct investment and support competitive supply chains to create new jobs;

5. Create jobs for youth, the project supports entrepreneurship and works with the private and public sectors to implement vocational education programs to train youth in skills suitable to the local economy.
