As a part of aftercare program and support to foreign investors in BiH, FIPA representatives on November 21, 2011 have visited the company Global Ispat Koksna Industrija placed in Lukavac and had a meeting with the company’s Management.

Global Ispat Koksna Industrija doo Lukavac (GIKIL) is the partnership between Global Steel Holdings (GSHL) headquartered in Dubai and Coke and Chemical Conglomerate (Koksno-hemijski kombinat) which is state owned by Bosnia and Herzegovina.

GIKIL is the leading metallurgical coke producer in the Region. Univerzal, Premium and Special are the three widely famous GIKIL's brand of metallurgical coke, while their offer also includes Nut coke and Coke breeze. GIKIL is also reputable supplier of crude tar, ammonium sulphate, crude benzene, anhydride maleic acid and mineral fertilizers.

The company has more then 1 000 employees and the whole complex with its five plants covers an area of over 1km².

As an advantage for investing in BiH, they emphasize the good and quality labour force and in the following years they plan to increase their production by new investments.

According to the company’s Management, the foreign investors are satisfied with doing business in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but they consider that their business results would be even much better with certain improvement in investment environment.
