-Diaspora plays a key role in the economic development of the country

The
Director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina
(FIPA) Marko Kubatlija participated at the Business Forum of the Brčko
Diaspora on the panel on establishing successful and long-term cooperation with
diaspora.
Director Kubatlija
pointed out that through his previous work he had the opportunity to meet many
of our people in high positions who have success in economic, cultural and
other processes in the countries where they live.
He believes that
the organization of such forums that will connect the diaspora in the fields of
economy, is very useful.
Successful
people from the diaspora have capacities and can contribute by transferring
knowledge, skills and technologies.
In its database,
FIPA offers 280 investment projects for the realization of which the owners are
looking for foreign partners, as well as more than 420 greenfield and
brownfield locations for investment in economic and industrial zones. Projects
from the metal-processing, wood-processing, tourism, eco and energy sectors are
particularly attractive.
The forum was
organized with the support of the USAID mission, which works on exploiting the
potential of the diaspora, and so far, in these and similar activities, it has
provided support for 200 start-up companies, which has provided 2,800 jobs in
74 local governments in BiH.
