The Acting Director of the Foreign Investment
Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIPA) Marko Kubatlija had a meeting
with Elena Foti, Director of the Department for International Cooperation at
the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Athens.
Considering the good political relations between the
two countries, but the symbolic economic exchange and the low inflow of Greek
investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr Kubatlija initiated the organization
of promotional business events focused on targeted sectors and companies aiming
at economic progress of the country and creation of new jobs for the citizens
of BiH.
Mrs Foti pointed out that there is an interest of
Greek investors in the energy sector, metal processing, wood sector and the IT
sector of BiH, and she supports the idea of the need to connect and more
intensively promote investment potentials, adding that the more intensive
investments of Greek companies are in Serbia, Bulgaria and Albania,
The Athens Chamber of Commerce currently has around
100,000 active members.
Example of the company Alpro a.d. Vlasenica, which is
a member of the Alumil group, is a good example of how much deeper cooperation
can be achieved than just trade between countries.
