FIPA representatives visited Lykos Balkan Metals, owned by the Australian company Lykos Metals Limited, which has been operating in Bijeljina since 2021.
Lykos Balkan Metals is engaged in geological
research of non-ferrous and precious metals in BiH. It includes the companies
Medeni Brijeg, SNK Metali and Braha Resources, which are the holders of researche
licenses for the projects Sočkovac, Sinjakovo and Čajniče, in the
municipalities of Petrovo, Mrkonjić Grad, Jezero and Čajniče. By participating
at the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX), the company has secured 12 million
Australian dollars (approximately 16.5 million BAM), which it intends to fully
invest in geological research in BiH.
In addition, the company is committed to
various types of support to the local community, which are primarily reflected
in the employment of domestic staff, establishing business cooperation with
domestic companies, and investing in projects of social importance.
Lykos Balkan Metals also plans to establish a
foundation that will systematize the company's approach to socially responsible
projects and make their effects on the community even more positive and
long-term.
