- Intensified promotion of BiH investment potentials in Scandinavia
The FIPA Director Milica Marković, in
cooperation with the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Oslo Bakir Sadović,
had a series of meetings with relevant institutions and companies in Norway aiming
at more significant presentation of BiH potentials in this part of Europe. In
accordance with the analysis and plan of FIPA, in the coming period, the focus
will be, among other markets, on the Scandinavian region and cooperation with
Norwegian institutions.
One of them is the Innovation Norway Agency,
the most important instrument of the Norwegian Government for innovation and
development of Norwegian companies and industry. It was agreed to continue
cooperation on the organization of an IT business forum for companies from BiH,
as well as the continuation of activities from March 2020, with the aim to
create opportunities for establishing cooperation between Norwegians and the BiH
company on the development of various software solutions.
A meeting was held with representatives of
Greenstat to present opportunities and projects in the energy sector. There is
great interest from Norwegian companies in the areas of hydro, solar and wind
energy.
If some of the planned investments are
realized, Norway will be a key contributor in transforming BiH from a coal-energy
user country to a renewable energy country.
In the total production of electricity in BiH,
hydropower plants participate with 26%, and thermal power plants with 70%.
Electricity exports in 2021 amounted to about 830 million BAM, which is about
66% more than in 2020, and we currently use about 36% of the total hydro
potential.
Mrs. Marković also met with representatives of
the Norwegian-Bosnia and Herzegovina Chamber of Commerce led by President Mujo
Hamzić and NBBA President Jan Olsson of the Norwegian-Bosnia and Herzegovina
Business Association, and participated in a conference entitled "Norwegian
Offshore Wind and European Energy Independence" organized by Energy Valley
from Oslo.
