-Friendly relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey should be accompanied by additional investments
In March 2021, the Foreign Investment Promotion
Agency of BiH (FIPA) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Investment
Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey to support the development
of investment cooperation between the two countries, create favourable
conditions for improving economic cooperation and establish direct contacts between
business communities of BiH and Turkey.
Accordingly, the FIPA Director Milica Marković
had a meeting in Ankara with Burak Daglioglu, President of the Investment
Office, to agree on further activities to promote Bosnia and Herzegovina and to
organize a business forum in September this year. The key sectors of investment
for which there is a serious interest of Turkish businessmen have been defined,
and during the forum the focus will be on certain investment projects from the
sectors of metal processing, poultry, ICT, health tourism and real estate.
Mrs Marković also met with the Ambassador of
Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Republic of Turkey, Adis Alagić, who is actively
working on economic diplomacy and the promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s
potentials. The Embassy of BiH will be a partner in the organization of this
forum, and will actively work on animating target companies from Turkey and
presenting FIPA investment projects.
She also met with representatives of the Ankara
Development Agency. Cooperation has been agreed on the promotion of investment
potentials of BiH and the organization of project presentations for target
sectors and companies.
It was stated that Turkey, as a country, ranks at
11th position in terms of investments in BiH, and that there is
interest and the possibility to significantly improve this position.
