-Italy at the 8th position by investments in BiH

The Assistant
Director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of BiH (FIPA) Slavica
Korica and her associates received a delegation of Italian businessmen, led by
Pasquale Bauleo, CEO of Consorzio Technology 2000. The company was founded in
1994 and operates in the whole world, and despite Italy, has offices in France,
Norway and Greece.
The delegation
included Alfonso Gallo, Director of the Geko company, the largest electricity
producer in Italy with an annual output of 7,000 MW.
The visit of
the delegation was organized with the aim to present them opportunities for
investing in BiH, with a focus on projects and energy, especially renewable energy
sources, and road infrastructure projects.
Investors were
familiarized with the activities that FIPA provides to foreign investors in
BiH, foreign companies operating in BiH, the status of foreign investors, and
investment sectors.
It was pointed
out that Italy is in the 8th position on the list of foreign
investors with 308 million EUR invested so far. The most important Italian
companies in BiH are: Dubicotton Kozarska Dubica, Sportek Kotor Varoš, RS
Invest Plus Banja Luka, Olip-Bosna Travnik, etc. These companies are production
oriented, especially in the textile and footwear sector, the wood sector and
metal processing.
