- NEW AMBASSADOR FOR NEW INVESTMENTS

The newly-appointed
Ambassador of Qatar to BiH H.E. Sultan Al-Khater visited the Foreign Investment
Promotion Agency (FIPA) in order to have information about the work of the
Agency and economic cooperation between the two countries in the field of
investments and trade.
The Director
Gordan Milinić introduced the Ambassador with the responsibilities of FIPA,
activities in the field of promotion of the country, cooperation with foreign
investors, and economic cooperation between the two countries and Qatar’s investments
in BiH.
According to
the data of the Central Bank of BiH, total direct foreign investments from
Qatar in BH, as of 31 December 2017, amounted to 144.1 million BAM,
representing 1.1% of total investments in BiH.
An overview of
the realized investments from Qatar was presented, and it was pointed out that
the most successful project is the opening of the regional television company
Al-Jazeera Balkans. Other investments were realized mainly in the real estate
and production sector.
The Ambassador
was made familiarized with the investment projects and locations from the FIPA
project database, the support that the Agency provides to investors in BiH from
registering the company to the completion of the project.
The 18th
Doha Forum was also discussed, which is being held in December 2018 and gathers
a large number of investors, and represents a platform for establishing
contacts with leaders, investors and decision makers from around the world.
The Ambassador
Al-Khater invited Mr Milinić to visit Qatar and handed him an invitation from the
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister of Qatar Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman
Al-Thani to participate at the Doha Forum.
