The new Ambassador of BiH to Italy Darko Zelenika visited the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of BiH (FIPA) and spoke with the Director Gordan Milinić the new steps that should be taken to increase Italian investments in BiH.

Italy is currently at the 8^th position on the list of foreign investors in BiH, with a total of 603 million BAM invested so far. Italy and BiH have signed an Agreement on the Protection and Promotion of Investments and the Agreement on the Avoidance of Double Taxation, which significantly facilitates the procedure for the realization of investments.

There is a great interest and chances for new Italian investments in the metal processing sector, the wood industry, the textile industry, agriculture and tourism. In May next year, about thirty companies from BiH will be guests of the large MACFRUT fair in Rimini for realization of projects in agriculture, and a business forum Italy-BiH in Rome is planned in June in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of Italy and associations of Italian entrepreneurs.
