In preparation for the diplomatic mission, the newly appointed Ambassador of BiH to the United Kingdom Valentina Marinčić visited the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of BiH (FIPA) in order to have information about current economic cooperation between the two countries with a focus on British investment realized in BiH.

The FIPA
Director Gordan Milinić presented the Agency's work on attracting foreign
investments, opportunities for investing in BiH, attractive sectors for foreign
investors and economic cooperation between the two countries.
He also
stressed the need for a significant engagement of the BiH economic diplomacy in
the field of promotion of the country and attracting investments from Great
Britain considering the events related to Brexit, pointing out that FIPA managed
to animate during the two previous years the BiH economic diplomacy in the way
that they started organizing investment conferences where are presented
opportunities for investing in BiH.
The
participation of FIPA at the investment conference held in November 2017 was
highlighted, where the potentials of Bosnia and Herzegovina for investment were
successfully presented.
The United
Kingdom is ranked at the 10th place on the list of countries-investors
in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that the current level of investments, according
to the data of the Central Bank of BiH, amounts to 229 million EUR.
Some of the
most important field investments are: EFT- Mine and TPP Stanari Ltd., Mineco – Lead
and Zinc Mine Sase, STEELMIN LIMITED UK - Steelmin BH Ltd Jajce, RPC Superfos
Balkan Ltd Gračanica, Excel Assemblies BH Ltd Maglaj, etc.
The Ambassador
is expected to participate at economic events, to establish cooperation with the
British Chamber’s System and other Associations in charge of economy in order
to improve the economic situation between the two countries in the field of investments
in BiH and exports.
It was agreed
to try to organize an economic event on the promotion of BiH in 2019.
