The Ambassador
of Palestine to BiH H.E. Rezeq Namoora visited the Foreign Investment Promotion
Agency of BiH (FIPA) to discuss the possibilities for Palestinian investments
in BiH.
Mr. Milinić
informed the Ambassador Namoora about the responsibilities of the Agency as the
main address for foreign investments in BiH, activities in the field of
attracting and promotion of investment opportunities in BiH, support provided
by FIPA to foreign investors in the implementation of projects and removal of
administrative obstacles in BiH with the aim to have investments successfully
completed.
He pointed out
that all foreign investors are welcome in BiH and that FIPA is at the disposal
of Palestinian investors who want to invest in BiH.
The Ambassador
was also informed about the status of foreign investors in BiH, possibilities
for investing in key sectors of the BiH economy, and existing free trade
agreements and preferential arrangements, which represents great opportunities
for export oriented companies operating in BiH.
Mr. Namoora
reported that several prominent Palestinian investors living in the United
States and successful businessmen want to visit BiH to discuss the possibility
for investing in the pharmaceutical industry in BiH in late February 2018.
He also
pointed out that a Palestinian delegation of businessmen visited BiH three
months ago and that at that occasion it was expressed interest in opening a
Palestinian bank in BH worth between 20 and 30 million US $ was discussed. Talks
on this topic will certainly continue. Interest is also expressed on the wood
and food industry, water and juice factories and medicines production, stating
that there are a large number of Palestinian investors who live and work
successfully in Europe, America, Latin America and the Middle East countries.
A delegation
of Palestinian investors will visit FIPA at the end of February 2018 to discuss
investment opportunities in the mentioned sectors in BiH.
