The city of Trebinje, in cooperation with the Foundation "Konrad Adenauer" and the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of BiH (FIPA), organized a two-day Investment and Development Conference held on 30 and 31 August in Trebinje.

Opening
of the conference was attended by the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and
Herzegovina Mladen Ivanić, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations
Mirko Šarović, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Crnadak, ambassadors of the
Czech Republic, Serbia and Croatian, the Deputy Ambassador of Montenegro,
representatives of the Russian Embassy, and mayors and municipal
representatives from Eastern Herzegovina.
The
first day of the conference was dedicated to the presentation of projects and
local culinary brands of the city of Trebinje, where the Mayor of Trebinje
Slavko Vučurević pointed out that the aim of the conference is to present the
realized and planned projects, pointing out gratitude to embassies of countries
that have invested in previous years in this area.
Within
the second day of the conference, it was presented the development potentials
of Trebinje with a special emphasis on the infrastructure sector, tourism,
agriculture and food production, as well as numerous possibilities for
realization of projects through the model of public-private partnership.
Realized
and planned projects in Trebinje were also presented, as well as resources,
success stories and perspectives for the economic development of Herzegovina in
tourism, information and communication technologies and education. It was
pointed out that there are huge potentials for investments and all
representatives of Trebinje, Herzegovina municipalities and entrepreneurs were
invited to propose their investment projects that FIPA will promote to foreign
investors in order to establish business partnerships and to enable projects
realization.
