Representatives of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of BiH (FIPA), the Municipality of Ilijaš, the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton and International Finance Corporation (IFC) visited on 23 May 2016, within the Aftercare Program, the companies Željezera dd and Standard Furniture Factory dd in the Municipality of Ilijaš.

The company Željezara became in July 2015 part
of the group Prevent when the company revival started. Investments realized so
far in the factory reached the amount of 20 million EUR. They have 135 workers
and plan to extend their business and employment.
The new foundry plant, equipped with the most modern
machines, is going soon to start trial production.
Standard Furniture Factory dd as a furniture
manufacturer has been recognized as a quality brand at BiH market, but also at the
European one. The company export its products to Germany, Austria, Belgium, the
Netherlands, Switzerland, Slovenia and Croatia.
It employs a total of 750 workers (group
employs 1000 workers), but in the future it plans to employ another 100
workers. Also, the plan is to build a new office building on 10,000 m²
(investment is estimated at 2 million BAM). They have invested so far 18
million EUR.
In addition to companies in BiH, they have been
operating in Serbia (Leskovac) and Germany.
As advantages of investing in BiH, the Director
Mr Damir Muhić said that BiH has cheap and educated workforce, low tax rates, a
good geographic position, stable exchange rate and others.
The mentioned companies are key drivers of
economic development of this area and of creating new jobs.
