A business delegation from Izmir, led by the Honorary
Consul General of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Turkey Ahmet Kemal Bayask talked
with the management of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of BiH (FIPA) on
possibilities for realization of projects of animal husbandry and breeding of
ornamental plants in BiH. It is about the businesspeople who successfully operate
in Turkey, but also at the markets of the Russian Federation.
The Deputy Director of FIPA Blaženka Mišković
thanked the Turkish businessmen for their visit and briefly presented basic
information about the Agency's work, noting that Bosnia and Herzegovina is expecting
higher inflow of investments from Turkey, considering the good existing
political, cultural and other relations between the two countries.
Entrepreneurs were informed about the legal
framework related to foreign investors in BiH, the way they can start up a
company or branch, conditions for investing, certain reforms that have
contributed to facilitating the start-up of business activity, benefits and incentives
in FBiH and RS.
They were given information on locations that
are convenient for the above mentioned activities.
FIPA will be in constant contact with the said and
provide all necessary assistance to bring about the realization of the
investment.
The Honorary Consul Baysak informed the FIPA management
that he has on daily basis contacts with Turkish businessmen who are interested
in visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to meet with representatives of the
institutions with whom they would discuss about investment opportunities, what
is witnessed by today's visit, as well as previous visits he organized.
He also spoke about the project of the
International University of Sarajevo (IUS) which he implemented in cooperation with
a few friends from Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina and in which it was invested
so far 35 million EUR. The project started in 2004, it is not yet completed and
it is expected that it will cost 60 million EUR. IUS now has 300 employees.
This project has the character of Waqf, which has also contributed to the
development of the economy.
