The Mayor of the Municipality of Gradiška visited FIPA

The Director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of BiH (FIPA) talked with the Mayor of the Municipality of Gradiška Zoran Latinović about possibilities for cooperation in the field of collecting projects and identifying new business possibilities disposed by the Municipality.

As some of advantages of doing business in this area, Mr Latinović said that Gradiška is a favourable geo-strategic position considering that the largest and most important border crossing to BiH from Europe, that it has favourable geo-transport position, and that Gradiška is intersected by important communications which connect it with the highway Belgrade- Zagreb on the north.

Availability of agricultural land and forests characterise potentials of this Municipality. It was intensified agricultural development, construction of modern farms, as well as raising plantations.

He pointed out Agro-industrial zone Nova Topola where 15 investors are running business, and whose investment should amount to 45 million BAM. One of the major investors who operate in this area is an Italian company that manufactures thermal insulation panels and which has so far invested 15 million BAM.

When it comes to the fruit production, they annually produce 50,000 tons of quality fruit, and the most of products is exported to the Russian market. They also have modern cold storage whose capacities are 15,000 tons.

The Director Milinić informed the Mayor on the planned activities of the Agency for 2016, on support that FIPA has from foreign embassies and economic representations in BiH, the Council of Ministers, Chambers of Commerce, Foreign Investors Council and others. He also invited the Mayors to submit all available projects in order that FIPA can include them in its database projects, and offer them to interested investors.
