In accordance with the Embassy of Japan in BiH, the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of BiH-FIPA and the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH organized a meeting in Sarajevo with Mr Hirofumi Ono, General Director of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) based in Vienna, and associates in order to discuss the detailed preparations related to the visit for the first time of a large delegation of Japanese businessmen in a three-day visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina at the beginning of October 2016.

The aim of the visit is to attract direct
foreign investments in BiH from Japan, ie, inclusion of the most successful
Japanese companies in the economic flows of BiH. At the meeting the visit
program was agreed which includes first of all presentation of the economic
situation in BiH and the environment for investing, review of foreign
investments with emphasis on the most important countries-investors and the
most successful investment projects. After that, the meeting will be followed
by the presentation of investment opportunities and available investment
projects from all economic sectors in Bosnia and Herzegovina, starting from the
energy, agricultural sector, metal, wood, etc.
During this visit, the Japanese businessmen will
visit several successful BiH domestic and foreign companies in order to be familiarized
with the work and the conditions in which their economic activity is being
conducted. Site seeing to the BiH sights will also be organized.
Coming of the mentioned business delegation
represents a significant step forward in the efforts of the relevant institutions of BiH to attract foreign investment from Japan.
