Muzaffer Cilek, president of the Foundation BIGMEV and owner of the company Cilek, talked with the Director of FIPA Gordan Milinić about possibilities for cooperation between BIGMEV and FIPA, as well as cooperation on attracting investments from Turkey to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The BIGMEV Foundation was
established five years ago with the aim to improve economic relations between
BiH and Turkey. The are involved in several projects with the aim to export the
BiH products to Turkey, as well as the conversion of 50 bilateral agreements on
twinning between Turkish and BiH Municipalities in concrete benefits, ie. in
investments. The objective is that cooperation takes place evenly across the
entire BiH, and the positive experiences they have with Mostar, Doboj and
Brčko.
Cilek company that manufactures
children's furniture, operates in 66 countries around the world, owns 450
retail outlets and has 2,000 employees.
In BiH except showrooms, they
possess a firm which is dealing with the organic production, a company that
operates in the field of tourism, a construction company and they are currently
building two small hydro power plants.
The Director Milinić pointed out
that the most important for each country is economy and employment of people,
that in Bosnia and Herzegovina has a lot of unemployment people and that every
new job place is valuable.
He belives that the level of
investments from Turkey in BiH should be much higher due to the good political,
cultural and educational cooperation between the two countries.
FIPA in cooperation with the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs will intensify activities in a way that BiH
embassies will do much more to attract foreign investors, as well as with the
BiH diaspora in the world.
FIPA is constantly working to
find new contacts abroad and it is available to all potential investors who are
interested in investing in BiH.
