In cooperation with the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in China, the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH (VTKBiH) organized on 22nd June in Sarajevo business meeting between BiH and Chinese businessmen at which participated also representatives of FIPA, together with Director Jelica Grujic. On behalf of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of BiH, the Director Grujic informed the attendees on conditions for investing in our country, and then had a presentation on the economic sectors that provide significant opportunities for foreign investment, and for which the Chinese businessmen previously expressed interest.
In addition, during the bilateral meetings, the FIPA representatives made Chinese investors familiarized with the services that FIPA provides to investors, handed to them the Agency’s promotional material and investment projects for which they expressed interest.
These meetings are an opportunity to review the potentials and possibilities for establishing more important of cooperation, joint projects and investments.
The Chinese economic delegation was composed of representatives of 51 Chinese corporations from almost all economic sectors - chemical industry, financial sector, textiles, footwear, metal sector, wood processing, food processing, construction industry, electrical industry, energy and mining, pharmaceutical industry, graphic and paper industry, catering, market research and investment sector. The representatives of Chinese companies have visited BiH in order to be, as said the Chairman of China Council for Promotion of International Trade, Wen Jife, better informed on the investment environment and to find appropriate business partners in BiH.
130 BiH companies, institutions and associations participated at the bilateral meetings with businessmen from China.
The business forum were attended by her Excellence, Mr. Wang Fugu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in BiH, representatives of the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the representatives of the BiH Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, representatives of the Foreign Trade Chamber and many others.
It should be noted that BiH has signed two international agreements with China regarding the protection of investments and for trade and economic relations. Within these agreements, they formed a mixed committee to meet periodically in BiH and China and in which are analyzed possible directions of cooperation between and obstacles on this path.
