The Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIPA) participated at the General Assembly of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) and the 29th World Investment Conference (WIC2025), held from October 22 to 24, 2025, in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

The conference, marking WAIPA’s 30th anniversary
this year, gathered representatives of governments, investment promotion
agencies, international institutions, investors, and business leaders from
around the world. Under the theme “Transforming
Our World: Investing for a Resilient and Sustainable Future,” the event
focused on the challenges of modern investment, including climate change,
geopolitical turbulence, technological disruptions, and global shifts in value
chains.
A special highlight
was FIPA’s participation at the Ministerial Roundtable, where national
strategies were aligned with global investment trends. Within the framework of
bilateral meetings, the FIPA delegation had numerous discussions with
representatives of investment funds, multinational companies, and partner
agencies, aiming to attract new investments to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the
conference, FIPA had the opportunity to present Bosnia and Herzegovina’s
investment potentials, including key sectors such as energy, tourism,
agriculture, and the IT industry. Several B2B meetings were also organized with
potential investors, featuring concrete investment-ready projects.
FIPA representative
PhD Maida Bećirović also actively participated at the WAIPA General Assembly,
where new strategies for enhancing international cooperation and promoting
foreign direct investment were discussed, along with the election of WAIPA’s
President and Board members.
FIPA’s participation in WIC2025 reaffirms the Agency’s
continued commitment to strengthening the international visibility of Bosnia
and Herzegovina as an attractive destination for foreign investors. This event
represents an important step forward in improving the country’s investment
climate and creating new business opportunities for domestic enterprises.
