-Activate Belgian investors to invest in BiH and put emphasis on economic cooperation

The FIPA Director Milica Marković met with Benjamin Sturtewagen, head of the Diplomatic Office of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to discuss the Agency's activities and competencies in promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as BiH's potential for foreign investors.

It was stated that the level of investments and trade with Belgium can be significantly higher, and that it is necessary to work together on the promotion of economic cooperation. There is special potential and interest for the tourism, renewable energy, recycling and ICT sectors.

Belgian investors are unaware of the potentials and opportunities in the Balkans, including BiH, due to a lack of promotional activities in the field of promotion in the region.

Mrs. Marković initiated the organization of a promotional event at which Belgian investors would be presented with investment opportunities in BiH.

Ambassador Sturtewagen expressed a positive opinion on the preliminary data of the Central Bank of BiH on foreign direct investment for the period January - September 2021, amounting to BAM 1,049,000,000, which is an increase of 65 percent compared to the same period in 2020.
