-Proactive promotion of investment potentials of BiH and cooperation with the French Development Agency
The Director of the BiH Foreign Investment
Promotion Agency (FIPA) Milica Marković received the newly appointed BiH
Ambassador to France Bojana Kondic-Panić with the aim to inform her about
foreign investment trends in BiH and current economic cooperation between the
two countries with a focus on French investments in BiH.
As of December 2020, according to the Central
Bank of BiH, France has invested around EUR 17 million in Bosnia and
Herzegovina, and currently more than 50 companies with French capital are
active in the country.
It was stated that French investments are at an
unsatisfactory level, and that we should work more proactively on the promotion
and attraction of new investors from this country, including cooperation with
the French Development Agency. It is the oldest Development Bank in the world,
which is present in more than a hundred countries, and their office in BiH is
expected to open.
The French Development Agency invests around €
11 billion a year in various fields.
Director Marković believes that in addition to
intensifying economic diplomacy and establishing as many contacts with the
business community in France, political lobbying in the interest of Bosnia and
Herzegovina is very important, respecting the fact that France and Germany are
pillars of the European Union.
FIPA will provide all necessary information in
order to timely inform the French business community about investment
opportunities, including all economic sectors that are promoted as attractive
for foreign investments.
