- It was agreed to continue cooperation on attracting foreign investments from Germany
The FIPA Director Milica Marković informed the
Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to BiH, HE Margret Uebber on the
work and responsibilities of the Agency, noting that FIPA provides information,
analysis and advices to potential investors on the business and investment
environment, including legislation relating to foreign direct investments.
There is also information on economic developments in the country, presentation
of investment opportunities, including investment projects in the development
phase or projects that are already ready for implementation providing
assistance to potential investors and those who have already invested in the
country through the "aftercare" program and cooperation with local,
regional and international organizations with the aim to improve the investment
environment.
She also spoke about the activities that FIPA
intends to carry out at the German market in the coming period, which include
the organization of "outreach" campaigns and participation in certain
fairs.
The Director Marković agreed with the Ambassador
Webber and the Head of the Embassy's Economic Department Michael Passlick to
intensify cooperation, including FIPA's participation at the meetings of the
Permanent Working Group between the Federal Republic of Germany and Bosnia and
Herzegovina.
It was pointed out at the meeting that the
Federal Republic of Germany and Bosnia and Herzegovina have maintained close
diplomatic relations for more than 25 years, that Germany is very important for
Bosnia and Herzegovina and its companies, and FIPA itself in terms of
attracting foreign direct investments and intensifying economic and trade
cooperation.
Germany, as a country with invested 752.2
million BAM, is on the list of countries most important investors in BiH, and
for years it has been the most important bilateral trade partner of Bosnia and
Herzegovina.
