FIPA Director Milica Markovic participated at the 16th Salzburg Europe Summit

 16th Salzburg Europe Summit was held on 27–29 September 2020, in Salzburg, Austria.

The theme of this year's Summit was "Europe, Solidarity and Peace", with focus on the corona virus pandemic and its impact on economic trends and investments. The corona pandemic hit the whole world unprepared with full force. The countries of Europe reacted to the crisis in different ways. In general, however, social, economic and cultural life was shut down to an extent that was previously unknown. The consequences will continue to challenge Europe for a long time.

During the Summit, director Markovic met with officials and businessmen from the European Union. Also, during the meeting with the organizer of the Summit, the Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE), Markovic initiated the organization of certain events in BiH.

Summit was organized under the honorary protection of Alexander Van der Bellen, Federal President of the Republic of Austria and under the patronage of Sebastian Kurz, Chancellor of the Republic of Austria. This year's speakers were Jean-Claude Juncker, Johannes Hahn and Martin Pammer, as well as a number of other officials from Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Montenegro, France, Russia, Sweden, Croatia, Hungary, Belgium and Luxembourg. Also, the speakers were the President of the Republic of Srpska Zeljka Cvijanovic and the Minister of Health and Social Affairs of the Republic of Srpska Alen Seranic.
