-The newly-appointed Ambassador of BiH to Romania visited FIPA
Gordan Milinić,
Director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina
(FIPA), informed the newly-appointed Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to
Romania Aleksandar Dragičević about current Romanian investments in BiH and the
trends of foreign trade between the two countries.
According to
the data of the Central Bank of BH, Romanian investments in BiH currently
amount to 3.4 million BAM. The most important Romanian companies are: Steel
Mehanika d.o.o. Drvar, Astra Invest d.o.o. Lopare, Corrado Penna d.o.o.
Laktasi, which operate in the field of machine industry, production and trade
of leather.
The Ambassador
was also familiarized with the FIPA investment project base, including
investment locations, and FIPA's services provided to foreign investors.
In the coming
period, the Ambassador will organize meetings with business chambers and
business associations in Romania, as well as the Honorary Consul of BiH in
Romania, with the aim to strengthen economic cooperation between the two
countries with a focus on investments, and will intensify the engagement of BiH
economic diplomacy in order to significantly increase the level of Romanian
investments in the coming year.
In the last
few years, the interest of foreign companies has increased to move its
production from certain countries to BiH due to cheaper operating costs.
A large number
of European companies which are operating in Romania, plan to relocate their
production in some of the countries of the region, in which BiH sees a great
chance, and for this reason, the BiH economic diplomacy will invest significant
efforts in this field.
