-Turska is at the 11th position by the inflow of foreign investments in BiH

The Director
of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of BiH (FIPA) Gordan Milinić talked
with the newly-appointed Trade Advisor of the Turkish Embassy Sevgin Gungor
about the current Turkish investments in BiH, as well as the possibilities for
cooperation with the aim to attract new investors from Turkey.
Mr Milinić
presented the work of the FIPA, the cooperation with relevant institutions in
the field of promotion of BiH and its potentials abroad, and current activities
in BiH related to providing support to existing investors in order to further
expand and to employ local workforce.
By the end of
December 2017, investments from the Republic of Turkey in BiH amounted to 420
million BAM. Turkey is ranked at the 11th place on the list of
countries of the most important foreign investors in BiH, with a share of 3% in
total investments in BiH. The most important Turkish investments in Bosnia and
Herzegovina are: Natron - Hayat Ltd Maglaj, Sisecam Soda Lukavac Ltd Lukavac
and Turkish Ziraat Bank Bosnia d.d. Sarajevo.
It was pointed
out that the inflow of foreign investments in 2017 amounted to 777 million BAM,
which represents an increase of 37.9% compared to the investments in 2016, and that in the first
six months of 2018, the inflow of foreign investments amounted to 452 million BAM.
It was agreed
that the Trade Advisor informs the economic and industrial regional chambers in
Turkey, as well as the competent institutions on the BiH's potentials in order
to establish closer cooperation, and to provide support in the implementation
of the media campaign "Invest in BiH".
It will also
inform FIPA about organisation of significant investment conferences and
economic events at which BiH could be presented, including its investment
projects.
It was also
emphasized the importance of the work of Honorary Consuls of BiH in Turkey,
Kemal Bajsak and Muzafer Čilek on the promotion of BiH and its potentials, as
well as cooperation with Turkish businessmen in order to bring them to BiH for
investing.
