The Newly Appointed
Ambassador of BiH to Slovenia Slavko Vučurević visited the Foreign Investment
Promotion Agency of BiH (FIPA) where he discussed with Gordan Milinić the
current economic and investment cooperation between BiH and Slovenia.
Mr Milinić
informed the Ambassador Vučurević about activities carried out by the Agency in
terms of attracting foreign investments in BiH, establishing contacts with new
investors, and participation of the Agency’s representatives at events of an economic
character where Bosnia and Herzegovina and its potential for investing are
being presented.
He also
highlighted the importance of economic diplomacy in promoting country and
attracting investments, stressing that FIPA managed to animate the BiH economic
diplomacy, during the two previous years, in the way that they started
organizing investment conferences for presenting opportunities for investments
in BiH.
It was pointed
out that Slovenia has invested 468 million EUR in BiH so far, and is ranked at
the 4th position on the list of foreign investors. About 500
Slovenian companies have been operating in BiH, are employing around 15,000
workers.
According to the registered capital, the most important investors from
Slovenia in BiH are: Mercator
d.d. Ljubljana, Petrol Slovenska Energetska Družba d.d. Ljubljana, NLB d.d.
Ljubljana, Droga Kolinska Živilska industrija d.d. Ljubljana, Cimos d.d.
Avtomobilska industrija, Koper, Triglav INT d.d., Telekom Slovenije d.d.
Ljubljana, etc.
FIPA and the Embassy of BiH to Slovenia will continue
to work on organizing a business forum BiH-Slovenia that is going to be held at
the end of 2018 with the aim to find new investors for BiH.
The Ambassador is expected to engage in establishing
cooperation with businesspeople and economic associations of Slovenia in order
to continue the trend of growth of Slovenian investments in BiH, as well as
strengthening the BiH export.
