Within the handing over credentials to the Presidency of BiH on 21 February 2018, the non-resident ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to BiH H.E PhD Eniola Ajayi visited the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIPA), where she talked with the FIPA Secretary PhD Maida Bećirević and her associates on investment opportunities that Bosnia and Herzegovina can offer to foreign investors.
Considering that the cooperation in the
economic field between the two countries is low, that the people don’t know
much about opportunities for doing business in both countries, there are great
opportunities for presenting one and another country at a higher level, and in
that sense initiatives were proposed for organizing business visits to present
opportunities and establish economic cooperation.
Nigeria has 200 million inhabitants and is a
significant market for many industries and export-oriented companies from a
large number of industries. The country is rich in oil, has seen significant
economic growth in the last few years, and thus development, and is also a
major importer of food products.
The Ambassador Ajayi expressed her interest in
cooperation with the mining, metal sector and agriculture sector in BiH, and
that they see our country as the headquarters for their further expansion in
the region and in Europe.
The delegation of the Embassy of Nigeria is
invited to inform the business community of Nigeria as well as Nigerian
businessmen operating throughout Europe to visit the Sarajevo Business Forum
2018 to learn about the possibilities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, businessmen from
BiH, the region and the world who visit the forum, and establish cooperation in
numerous fields.
