Continuing to implement planned activities on the project "Development of the Automobile Industry of FBiH", the President of the Chamber of Commerce of FBiH Mirsad Jašarspahić took over an office within Innovative Campus Wolfsburg AG for the needs of the Automotive Industry Group, on 15 December 2017.
Bearing in mind the significance and potential
of the BiH automotive industry promoted by FIPA Agency through its work, as
well as the need for a common institutional approach to this business branch,
the ceremony of taking over the office was also attended by the representative
of FIPA Nina Pobrić as well as meetings on further activities in this project.
Wolfsburg AG is owned by Volkswagen and the
city of Wolfsburg, and one of the fields of activity of this company is the
support of companies involved in the production of automotive components. On
that occasion, FIPA representative Nina Pobrić introduced representatives of
Wolfsburg AG about the business environment in BiH, economic trends, possible
locations for investments and successful German investments in our country.
The goal of this activity is to create the preconditions
for a significant participation of the BiH manufacturers of automotive parts in
the delivery of parts for Volkswagen, as well as other German manufacturers.
Today, the automotive industry of Bosnia and
Herzegovina hires more than 10,000 workers, and it is growing from year to
year. The total export of automotive industry in BiH in 2016 amounted to 734
million BAM. Among five leading products of the total BiH export, two are
concerning the field of automotive industry: seats in the amount of 430 million
BAM and parts and accessories of vehicles in the amount of 175.9 million BAM.
