A SWEDISH DELEGATION VISITED FIPA

6/8/2010

The General Director for Trade of the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Anders Ahnlid, the Special Assistant to the Director General for Trade, Daniel Johansson, the Desk Officer Trade Promoter for SEE, Mikaela Wilhemsson, and the First Secretary of the Swedish Embassy in BiH, Tobias Axerup, met with the FIPA management on 8th June 2010 at the FIPA residence in Sarajevo.

The meeting was focused on the current economic cooperation between BiH and Sweden and on how to improve cooperation between BiH and Swedish companies by including the BiH Diaspora in this segment.

According to Mr. Ahnlid, solid basis for creating stronger economic activities and investment is also the fact that 55 000 people from BiH live and work in Sweden. For that reason, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden started a project of "Cosmopolitan" aiming at working with the BiH Diaspora in order to ensure that the funds are used for increasing investment and trade.

Mr. Ahnlid also said that Sweden is interested in organizing a Forum in Sarajevo on trade and investments after the elections in BiH.

A similar event was held in November 2009 in Stockholm and it was very successful.
