The Director
of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of BiH (FIPA) Gordan Milinić met
with the Director-General of Investment Promotion Agency of the People's
Republic of China (CIPA) Liu Dianxun and agreed to start the procedure of
signing the Agreement on Cooperation between these two agencies, according to which
CIPA will promote investment projects of FIPA and will direct Chinese investors
to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In addition to
the promotion of foreign investments to China, CIPA is providing support to
Chinese investors to invest abroad. Such two-way work of CIPA, as the Agency of
the Government of China under the Ministry of Commerce, is in accordance with
the economic strategies of China and includes cooperation with Chinese
companies, chambers of commerce and relevant ministries and institutions in
China.
The signing
the Cooperation Agreement will constitute a solid basis for improving economic
cooperation and attracting investments from China to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Agreement will be signed after approval by the Presidency of BiH and the
Government of the People's Republic of China.
During
meetings with representatives of CIPA, it was highlighted the need to intensify
the presentation of BiH's potential, and to define specific actions’ programs
in order to attract investments. Bosnia and Herzegovina is very interesting to
Chinese businessmen and according to the said Agreement, CIPA and FIPA will
enhance cooperation in promoting projects and arranging visits to investment
locations in BiH.
Taking into
account the economic and trade development of China, forecasting economic
growth of 6.5 percent this year and eleven million new jobs, will certainly
contribute to increase Chinese investments abroad, including BiH.
