5/20/2026

Director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIPA), Marko Kubatlija, and Assistant Director Slavica Korica are attending the 10th Balkan Energy Summit in Athens, one of the region’s leading energy events and a key platform for shaping the future of Southeast Europe’s energy sector.

During the conference, FIPA representatives held meetings with representatives of Bechtel, who expressed interest in investment opportunities in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s energy sector. The discussions focused on infrastructure and energy development projects, as well as the country’s potential in renewable energy and the green energy transition.

FIPA representatives also held meetings with Dimitrios Maos, former Economic Advisor at the Embassy of Greece in Sarajevo, and Frank Werner, former Economic Advisor at the Embassy of Germany in Sarajevo, to discuss regional energy connectivity and strategic projects that could significantly transform Southeast Europe’s energy landscape.

In addition, Assistant Director Slavica Korica took part in the panel discussion “Energy Security and Infrastructure in Southeast Europe,” which addressed the transformation of the energy sector through supply diversification, grid modernization, and the integration of renewable energy sources.

The Summit brings together ministers, regulators, chief executive officers, investors, transmission system operators (TSOs), utility companies, and infrastructure developers at a critical moment for European energy security, power system resilience, and the financing of the energy transition.

Organized by IN-VR and its Net Zero Circle community, the conference serves as a leading business and policy platform for strategic dialogue, partnership development, and cross-border cooperation across the fields of oil and gas, electricity, renewable energy, grid infrastructure, energy storage, and finance.

Participation in the Summit represents an exceptional opportunity to engage with industry leaders, innovators, and decision-makers from around the world, while also opening new avenues for strategic partnerships and investment in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s energy sector.

Through its participation in this important international event, FIPA continues its efforts to promote Bosnia and Herzegovina as an attractive destination for energy sector investment, strengthen international cooperation, and attract new investments that support the country’s sustainable economic development.
