The Director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIPA) Marko Kubatlija received the Consul General of the United Arab Emirates in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Ahmed Saif Mohammed Ali Alshamsi.

During the meeting, they
discussed improving economic relations between the two countries, possibilities
for inter-institutional cooperation with the aim to promote the country and attract
foreign investments.
Director Kubatlija informed
the Consul about the current economic cooperation between the two countries,
emphasizing that foreign direct investments from the United Arab Emirates as of
December 31, 2024 amounted to BAM 582,8 million, making them the 11th
most important investors in BiH.
The share of investments from
the UAE, as of December 2024, is 2.7% in the total FDI in BiH, while the
largest amount of investments is realized within the real estate business, or
55%.
Some of the investments are :
BBI Bank, Zeraa Agriculture Investment, Sunnyland, Capital Holding d.o.o.
Sarajevo, and others.
Consul Alshamsi highlighted
the interest of UAE companies in investing in the fields of clean energy,
eco-food production, technology, emphasizing that the joint UAE-BiH commissions
will open the door to more significant cooperation between the two countries.
The visit of the Consul
General to FIPA represents an important step towards deepening bilateral
cooperation and opening new opportunities for investments that can contribute
to the development of the BiH economy, creating jobs and strengthening
international business ties.
