Dr. Maida Bećirović, Secretary of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIPA), participated in the business meeting entitled “Economic Cooperation Between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia: Opportunities and Prospects for Enhanced Cooperation,” held in Zagreb on 1 October 2026.

The meeting reviewed the results achieved to date in bilateral cooperation in the field of foreign direct investment (FDI), highlighting that the Republic of Croatia has been the leading foreign investor in Bosnia and Herzegovina since FDI inflows began to be monitored.

Particular emphasis was placed on opportunities for further cooperation in the energy, agriculture and food processing, metalworking, wood processing, construction, tourism, IT and logistics sectors.

The meeting also highlighted the opportunities Bosnia and Herzegovina offers for relocating production facilities, as well as the role of its human and natural resources and diaspora in strengthening business ties between the two countries.

Participants emphasized that sustainable economic cooperation depends on concrete projects, stronger business ties and long-term partnerships between the business communities of the two countries.

One of the initiatives presented was the establishment of an informal Bosnia and Herzegovina–Croatia Business Club, aimed at strengthening networking among business representatives and creating opportunities for new joint projects.

In addition to FIPA, the meeting brought together representatives of companies, the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Croatian Chamber of Economy, and the Association of Entrepreneurs of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
